The VSCM-200 Code Merger can take RS-422 input signals from two Vicon control systems and merge it into one output signal. In this way, two Vicon control systems can access one device. For example, a NOVA1500 system and a Kollector Elite can have simultaneous control of a Surveyor2000 dome. Additionally, the VSCM-200 can be daisy-chained for system expansion.
The unit has a rotary switch that allows the selection of individual input and output baud rates from 2400 to 19,200 baud. Input 1 addresses are always 1 - 255. Input 2 addresses can be offset by DIP switch selection in groups of 16, up to a maximum of 112. The maximum address is 256; if the address exceeds 256, there will be no output.
The unit has four indicators. Two Receive indicators flash when there is data on the input lines (light solidly when input polarity has reversed). An Error indicator flashes when there is invalid data on an input line (lights solidly for any invalid baud rate selection). A Transmit indicator flashes when an output code is sent.
A removable mounting clip can be snapped onto a rack rail or screwed to a panel or wall. Convenient screw terminals are used for power/data in and data out connection.
